This desk was built in 1990 and became a very interesting design exercise for me.  A friend showed me a sketch of the top of a desk that was semicircular.  That grew into the desk you see here.  The organ pipe motif across the front added an interesting texture.  One fun addition was the center drawer that has a round front parallel to the curved front edge of the desk.

This desk is was commissioned in 1991 for a church in Salem.  The main structure of the desk was made using about 6 very distinctive boards from the same tree.  It took several days of “noodling” to determine the best way to use each board.
